About Sew for Change
My History
Sew for Change.org was founded in 2025 and is based in the North West coast of Cornwall, UK.
Having been asked for use of my sewing skills by members of my community and my work colleagues for a variety of little projects, eventually, alongside my regular job, 6 months ago I started "Sew for change" alterations service (as in, for comparitively small fees).
Along the way I began to wonder if I could maybe do something "more" whilst fulfilling these projects, and I came up with this:
Sew for change.org; a non-profit organization based on my sewing that re-directs all profits into womens charities that are close to my heart.
These charities are to include breast cancer charities, action against period poverty charities, and women & girl's education in poverty charities.
Im hopeful that you will you honour me with the joy of undertaking your alteration needs so that I can help these under funded, often understaffed charities reach their goals, and if fates allow, my big aim is to teach disadvantaged young women & girls to sew for themselves.... In person.
Whatever your needs are of my machinist skills; be it trousers re-hemming, mastectomy conversions in your favorite bikini or even bigger commissions (like a skirt or trousers!) that you will see just how together we can help change the lives of women & girls, one stitch at a time.
